2448A7 - Smarthome INSTEON Portable USB Adapter

The Smarthome 2448A7 Insteon Portable USB Adapter is a home control interface that allows hardware-based automation systems to control Insteon-compatible lights, appliances, heating/air conditioning systems and alarm systems directly via the Insteon network. The interface requires 3rd party Insteon software in order to function, such as Indigo or Homeseer. Check with third party software developer for support readiness.

The single-band interface sends and receives radio frequency (RF) Insteon signals. If you are trying to control power line only devices you must have at least one Access Point or dual-band Insteon product for communication. For best Insteon network performance, be sure you have properly installed at least two dual-band Insteon products. Since this is a RF only device, for always on applications, we highly recommend the plug-in dual-band version for superior performance and reliability.
