| This relay switch features true rocker action - tap the top to turn on, tap the bottom to turn off. It's very intuitive for anyone in the house to use. This switch can be a member of multiple lighting scenes, allowing a single keypad press or signal to command multiple switches and dimmers to go to a pre-determined user selectable brightness level or off/on status! 2 Way support means that it will respond to status requests as well as transmitting it's status when it's used locally at the switch. The relay in this unit is very quiet - about 70% quieter than a standard X10 brand relay switch - similar to the small click heard when turning a standard decora rocker on or off.
Insteon transmits its signal faster than X10 and is a redundant protocol, in that every receiver confirms when it receives and processes a command from the transmitter. And since each receiver is also a repeater, the more switches you have in the house, the more reliable the system becomes. The colours of the LED indicators and paddles can both be changed by purchasing a colour change kit. Please note that no trim plate is included, screwless wallplates are available.
