The TA-40 from Winland is a fixed low-temperature sensor that will trigger at 40F or 4.4C and is commonly used to trigger an alert when temperatures approach freezing indicating a problem with the heating system. Contacts above 40 F are normally closed and below 40 F are normally open. No external power is required.
