Improve your X10 reliability by installing a simple signal bridge like this one or a coupler/repeaterr. In larger homes over 2500 square feet, a coupler/repeater should be used instead.
The X-10 PRO Passive Signal Coupler (XPCP) is designed to couple X-10 power line carrier signals from one phase to another. The coupler is installed from one phase to another in the breaker panel. The unit may be used in single (split-phase) or three phase installations.
A simple test to see if this device will help your installation, is to turn on your electric dryer, or electric stove and see if your X10 signals reach the entire house reliably. If so, a simple coupler should be fine for your installation. This test works because turning on the stove/dryer effectively couples the phases in your home temporarily, if not optimally.
Should be installed by a licensed electrician.
X10 Pro XPCP Features: - Installs at the breaker panel
- Requires 2 free breakers, one on each phase
- For smaller homes, under 2500 square feet
