ZWave home automation technology is based on an RF wireless mesh network. ZWave lighting control products provide solid reliable performance and since each device can act as a wireless repeater, the more ZWave products you have installed, the stronger your network becomes. This mesh network design also means that a Z-Wave transmitter doesn't need to be in range of a Z-Wave receiver to control it, as long as there are other Z-Wave products in the network in between them that are in range. ZWave has excellent penetration through walls and floors, and is very secure with over 4 billion unique network codes to identify nodes. ZWave products from various manufacturers are interoperable.
