2476S - Smarthome Insteon / X10 SwitchLinc On/Off Switch White

This is Smarthome's best On/Off (relay) switch, supporting Insteon™ technology as well as X10 so you get the best of both worlds and can integrate it into your existing set-up.

This switch features true rocker action - tap the top to turn on, tap the bottom to turn off. It's very intuitive for anyone in the house to use. The SwitchLinc can be a member of multiple lighting scenes, allowing a single keypad press or signal to command multiple switches and dimmers to go to a pre-determined user selectable brightness level or off/on status! 2 Way support means that it will respond to Insteon or X10 status requests as well as transmitting it's status when it's used locally at the switch. The relay in this unit is very quiet - about 70% quieter than a standard X10 brand relay switch - similar to the small click heard when turning a standard decora rocker on or off.

Insteon transmits its signal faster than X10 and is a redundant protocol, in that every receiver confirms when it receives and processes a command from the transmitter. And since each receiver is also a repeater, the more switches you have in the house, the more reliable the system becomes.

When used in X10 mode, this switch is fully compatible with other X10 transmitters and even features 2-way communication so it will confirm it's status when polled or controlled locally! In X-10 mode, SignaLincs are NOT required.

Each Insteon installation should start with a 2443P Accesspoint/Coupler pair.

The colours of the LED indicators and paddles can both be changed by purchasing a colour change kit. Please note that no trim plate is included, screwless wallplates are available.
